Data protection declaration of Dähne Verlag GmbH

In the following, we would like to explain to you what data we - Dähne Verlag GmbH - process from you in the course of your use of this website. We take the protection of your data very seriously and ask you to take the time to read the following declaration. In this context, we would also like to draw your attention to our General Terms and Conditions, which contain further terms of use not relating to data protection, as well as to our imprint, in which you will find more detailed information about the company.

If you use our internet platforms or services and wish to purchase or obtain goods or services from us, the following provisions apply to the collection, storage and use ("processing") of your personal data. In doing so, we comply with the statutory provisions of the Federal Republic of Germany and the regulations applicable throughout Europe, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR).

In principle, we only process personal data if this is necessary for the provision of a service or offer and we have your consent, we are legally obliged to do so, we have to fulfil a contract with you or you wish to conclude a contract with us or we have to protect a legitimate interest on the part of our publishing house or a third party, provided that your interests, fundamental rights or freedoms do not outweigh this. The same applies to the forwarding of data to third parties (dispatch, payment, debt collection, etc.), whereby we regularly check our external service providers and ensure that the agreed data protection and technical and organisational measures are complied with. A detailed overview of the types of data processing and their scope, purpose and legal basis can be found in the points listed below.

We use technical and organisational measures to ensure the confidentiality of your personal data and to protect it from accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons.

This privacy policy applies to the websites www.heimtierkongress.de and www.pet-conference.com as well as the newsletter dispatch for these two event pages.

4. Web portals

(1) General retrieval data

For technical reasons, data is transmitted to us from your computer each time you access one of our web pages. This includes

  • Time of access to one of our pages,
  • Your browser type,
  • Your browser settings,
  • your operating system,
  • the last page you visited
  • the amount of data transferred
  • and the access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.).

As a rule, this data is not personalized, is used exclusively for the purpose of providing our online services and is deleted at regular intervals.

(2) IP address

In addition to the general retrieval data, your computer also transmits your IP address to us, which may be personal in individual cases (if not anonymised). Your IP address will only be processed by us for the purpose of providing our online portals and services. Once you have finished using our services, your IP address is regularly deleted for further use, unless we are obliged to store it for a longer period in accordance with Article 6(1)(c) GDPR due to statutory documentation obligations.

However, your IP address will be passed on to Google Analytics and service providers in anonymised form as part of our collaboration with them to display online advertising. Further details on the type and purpose of processing and the deletion periods can be found under points 8 to 10.

(3) Cookies

In order to organise your visit to our website, we transfer so-called cookies to your computer. Cookies are small text files that can be used to identify your computer. They do not interfere with your computer's operating system. Among other things, we use cookies to improve navigation and simplify the handling of orders and other services. This serves the purpose of providing our freely accessible and affordable online services (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR) or the fulfilment of a contract or preliminary contract with you (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR). Processing other than for the aforementioned purposes does not take place.

As a user, you can prevent the setting of cookies in your browser by blocking them under the "Settings" menu item. However, individual functions of our website may then not be usable. 6. Marketing measures and duty to inform

Dähne Verlag GmbH carries out marketing measures as part of its business operations. With the following information, we fulfil our legal obligation to provide information in accordance with Art. 13 and Art. 14 of the GDPR.

We process personal data of both our customers and other persons for marketing measures within the legally covered framework. Personal data is only ever processed after weighing up the interests of the person to be contacted in terms of data protection and our legitimate interest in advertising and marketing (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f GDPR). The purpose of the marketing measures is exclusively to provide information about products or offers from Dähne Verlag that are similar to the business or area of interest of the person being contacted.

We do not transmit any personal data to third parties for advertising purposes, nor do we acquire any personal data from third parties for advertising purposes.

Every customer and every person contacted has the right to object at any time without giving reasons, so that their data will no longer be used for advertising or marketing purposes. An objection has no effect on the continuation or future establishment of a customer or business relationship and no further consequences. This also applies if a previously granted consent is withdrawn. Consent to the processing of personal data for advertising purposes is neither contractually required nor necessary for the conclusion of a contract.

Furthermore, every data subject has the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing of their data and a right to information about the stored personal data.

Likewise, every customer and every person contacted or addressed has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

If the personal data is not collected directly from a person, we use publicly accessible sources, in particular the Internet, to collect personal data for advertising purposes. In this case, data collection and processing is limited to data on first name, surname, function in the company, address, e-mail address and, if applicable, telephone number and web address. Furthermore, in the case described here, we collect personal data exclusively from persons in their function as business persons or company representatives.

The duration of the storage of personal data for advertising purposes is determined by the duration of the existence of a business relationship with our customers or until the time at which the storage or processing for advertising purposes is objected to.

7. List of participants

From a certain point in time, we will publish the list of registered participants on the website. The first name, surname and company will be published. This is intended to strengthen the networking character of the event. Publication takes place on the basis of legitimate interests for all participants (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). You can object to the publication of your name at any time by sending an e-mail to service@daehne.de.

8. Social media

We do not use social media plugins such as Facebook, X, LinkedIn, etc. on any of our websites.
